![]() ![]() Increase accessibility to frontline team members with Kiosk Mode With Culture Amp’s encouragement, Snooze established a consistent feedback loop that provided more opportunity for the company to proactively address concerns raised by frontline team members. Increase touch points with science-backed, customizable templates With Jeremy at the helm, Snooze and Culture Amp collaborated to optimize the platform for the eatery’s unique circumstances and identify culture gaps-all with an eye toward strategic actions that ensured a consistently positive Snoozer experience across locations. Identify culture gaps occurring as a result of rapid growth.Create consistent benchmarks for comparison.Serve as a sole data source with efficient data collection and analyzation. To better utilize the Culture Amp partnership, Jeremy created several goals to maximize the platform’s potential: In light of the growth and pandemic-related challenges the company was facing, Jeremy believed Culture Amp could connect the company to more engagement opportunities with its frontline team members and help scale its incredible culture. Solution: Create an inclusive system to support employee engagement These rates had stabilized earlier in the year, hovering 20% under the casual dining benchmark for most of 2021, and Snooze wanted to understand the sudden change. Snooze also started to see higher employee turnover rates in late Q4 of 2021. Employee engagement rates dropped, and over the course of two years, favorable employee ratings decreased 6%.Īlthough the reduction was still significantly below the industry standard of 10-15% at the time, Snooze wanted to understand if individual behaviors within the company also contributed to the 5% decline between 20. But just as the partnership got underway, the pandemic hit, and Snooze-like most hospitality businesses-faced unprecedented challenges. That’s when Snooze turned to Culture Amp. It became clear we needed a partner to help us collect and understand the data, then interpret it in a way we could actionize,” he explained. One person couldn’t own this data collection without a tool to understand and dive into specifics. “Once we crossed the threshold of 30 locations across multiple states, we had less opportunities for face-to-face interactions. You would get a story, you'd get some really good qualitative data, but we didn't have true quantitative data to match,” said Jeremy.Īs Snooze expanded to more locations outside its home state of Colorado, and the number of Snoozers quickly accelerated to over 2,000, the manual hours required to maintain personal touch points wasn’t sustainable. “Before our substantial growth, you could walk into a restaurant and talk to the general manager. There wasn’t a central platform to gather employee information, and a systematic data collection process didn’t exist.īack then, the Chief People and Culture Officer had been solely responsible for calling every Snoozer on their birthday and work anniversary, gathering personal anecdotes, and calling attention to repetitive needs and issues. Prior to partnering with Culture Amp in 2019, Snooze’s corporate office learned about employee issues through word-of-mouth. Challenge: Scaling culture for a fast-growing company Jeremy’s priority was to continue building on this strong foundation and ensure cultural values remained intact as Snooze grew to 57 eateries across 10 US states. He knew it was a testament to company culture when 85% of Snoozers chose to return to work as dining reopened after the COVID-19 pandemic. Jeremy Edmonds, Vice President of People and Culture, started at Snooze in early 2020. Snoozers are encouraged to bring their personalities to work, spread their shared passion for community impact, and grow as professionals. The company also treats its employees, better known as Snoozers, with the same level of respect. In its quest to protect people and the planet, the company works with ethical and sustainable supply chain partners, donates 1% of sales back to communities, and composts or recycles 90% of its waste. Snooze is a breakfast, brunch, and lunch chain that prides itself on being a culture-first organization. Today, Snooze relies on Culture Amp to take strategic action and improve visibility into people operations, scale efforts to engage its frontline team members, enhance company culture, and increase profitability potential. ![]() Eatery began to rapidly grow, it partnered with Culture Amp to create a central platform for employee engagement and replace manual data collection. One note - I only use half the sugar and the bread turns out fine. 10/10 ever time.ĭon't hesitate - this is the best banana bread recipe (and I have tried many over the years). The most recent time I had some very sugary peaches left over from making Cheong and used a cup of those and a half cup of banana instead of a cup and a half of banana, this worked and was a great way to use the leftover fruit from the syrup, the peaches caramelized on the edges for toothsome bits, so good!Īmazing recipe, I usually enjoy fresh out of the oven or toasted with a cheeky smear of butter. I've used a variety of pans- loaf, 8 inch square, muffin. I have made this at least 10 times, and I never want to try another banana bread recipe. I missed the spice I’d normally use in banana bread, such as cinnamon and nutmeg. Recommend increasing the recipe measurements to a generous 3/4 c of each for a truly blissful experience. Added semi-sweet mini chips and walnuts to the muffin batter. Produced 1 dozen muffins and 5 mini loaves. I recently made a double batch due to an overly enthusiastic purchase of bananas. Head this way for more of our best banana recipes → Turn out bread onto rack and let cool completely (if you can resist) before slicing.Įditor’s note: This recipe was first published in December 2021. Reduce speed to low, add dry ingredients, and mix until just combined. Add 2 large eggs, one at a time, beating to blend after each addition and scraping down sides and bottom of bowl with a rubber spatula as needed. unsalted butter, room temperature, in a large bowl until light and fluffy, about 4 minutes. Using an electric mixer on medium-high speed, beat 1 cup (200 g packed) dark brown sugar, ⅓ cup mascarpone, plain whole-milk Greek yogurt, or sour cream, and 4 Tbsp. Morton kosher salt in a medium bowl to combine. Whisk 1½ cups (188 g) all-purpose flour, 1¼ tsp. Lightly coat an 8½x4½" loaf pan with nonstick vegetable oil spray and line with parchment paper, leaving generous overhang on long sides. And if you have any left over, wrap it tightly in plastic wrap or store in an airtight container. But we like this banana bread best as is: Spread thick-cut slices with cream cheese or softened butter for serving. There are lots of other ways to mix it up too: For a heartier loaf, swap up to 25% of the AP flour for whole wheat flour, or for an easy on-the-go option, portion the batter into a muffin tin to make banana muffins (note that the cook time will be shorter, start checking at 30 minutes). ![]() Or if you’re a purist, leave the banana mixture plain and sprinkle the top with raw or regular white sugar before baking for a crackly top. As for add-ins, chopped chocolate and walnuts are our ultimate combination, but this is your banana bread, so feel free to swap in dried cranberries or pecans. A stand mixer makes the process smoother, but an electric hand mixer does the job. This recipe requires very little prep time, but a relatively long bake time, so plan ahead. Spotty, speckly bananas bring the boldest, sweetest banana flavor-so if the bunch is still green, let it hang on the countertop for a few more days. As for the bananas, go for very ripe, overripe, or nothing. A dollop of mascarpone gives the quick bread tang, but whole-milk Greek yogurt or sour cream work too. Some banana bread recipes call for melted butter, which makes a dense, oily loaf here we cream softened butter until light and fluffy, resulting in a plush, springy texture. Dark brown sugar has a higher molasses content than light brown, which helps the crumb stay soft and supple for days. ![]() What’s the key to the best banana bread? Details. Laser Tip: Try a Light Weight Paper Setting Switching it to something like photo paper or fine art paper may make a world of difference. This is not always best, especially for vellum which is anything but plain. Most print drivers have a paper type or media type option, most of which default to plain paper. A tray that feeds paper as straight as possible is likely best. Some trays take paper on a roundabout path which may cause these issues. If you are having issues with jamming, paper feed or even smudging and smearing, try a different paper tray if possible. Just print it, lay it flat, and walk away. Yes, sometimes the fix for wet, smearing ink is as simple as patiently letting it dry. Inkjet Tip: Set it & Forget it (Let it Dry) ![]() The less ink you put onto your vellum, the less time it will take to dry. The fix? Try a different quality mode, such as draft or quick, which uses less ink. Because vellum has a non-porous, plastic-like finish, ink can take longer to dry on its surface, resulting in smearing during or after printing. One of the most common problems with inkjet printed vellum is ink smear. No matter whether MySQL considers this 'by design', this is inconsistent behavior because I CAN reopen the same temporary table twice, just not if the table pre-dates the function call. In the reproduction steps I have included, you'll see that you can have sub-functions that insert, update, and select from the SAME temporary table, but only if the table was created during execution of the function. I only bring this up because bug #60718 was remarked to be related to this which I believe is incorrect. We were having a ball," he said of himself and his wife, Renee Grisham. "In the early 90s, things were really chaotic, but also a whole lot of fun. Suddenly, Grisham's work was a hot commodity in Hollywood: The Pelican Brief got turned into a movie. The movie was a hit, too, becoming the highest grossing R rated film that year. Not until after he wrote his follow up, The Firm, which was an immediate success. His first book, A Time To Kill, didn't do so well - at first, at least. He'd start his days early and write in the mornings. The Firm was first published when Grisham was juggling working as a lawyer and being a member of the state legislature in Mississippi. When I asked him why, after all this time, is he revisiting The Firm, he simply said: "Well, we're always trying to angle a way to sell more books." It's a sequel to 1991's The Firm, which was the book that turned Grisham into a writing star. He's now out with his latest, The Exchange. People often ask him about his stance on books being pulled from schools and library shelves (he said it is "ridiculous" but doesn't keep a close eye on the news). He's part of a big lawsuit against the artificial intelligence company OpenAI for copyright infringement (he said he's not allowed to comment on it).
